Return Of Coins For Change

Hey everyone! There are some more big updates in Club Penguin! There is a new Club Penguin Coins for Change update, and some more ninja secrets! Ok, first I will tell you about the Coins for Change update. Check it out.

Starting on December 12th, you’ll have a chance to donate the coins you earn playing games in Club Penguin to three causes that will help make a difference in the world! Like last year, a one million dollar donation will be shared between three organizations and the coolest part is you will be able to use your Club Penguin coins to decide how much of the one million dollars goes to each organization.

I’ll have more details in the next couple weeks including information on the specific organizations you’re coin donations will be able to support. For now, it’s a great time to start earning coins to change the world with!! If you want to see how your donations from last year are making a huge difference, go to Kids Helping Kids and watch the update video.

Trading Card Game Update!

The wait is almost over! On Monday, the Club Penguin Trading Card game will be available in North American Toys’R'Us stores and also online at ToysRUs.com, ToysRUs.ca, Topps.com and the Club Penguin Online Shop (The Value Deck). You’ll be able to play the game at home with your friends, but they will ALSO connect to the brand new multiplayer Club Penguin game that starts on Monday!

Starting Monday, you’ll be able to enter the unique code from your Trading Cards into the Club Penguin site to enhance your online game play — you’ll be on a fast path to mastering the new game! We can’t wait to hear what you think of the cards – so let us know what you think!

Coins For Change!

Hello Penguins!

Coins For Change is finally here! Starting today in Club Penguin, there are booths set up around the island where you can donate your coins. When you click on a booth, you’ll be choosing which cause you’d like to support.
Donation booths are set up at the Beach, in the Plaza, and on the Migrator. Remember – every little bit counts, so you don’t have to donate a lot to make a difference.

On December 25, we’ll announce how you’ve decided that the one million dollars will be split. Check out the Kids Helping Kids page on the website to see how your donations are changing the real world. Let us know any other ideas you have for making the world a better place for everyone!

Sneak Peek – Member Event!

Many of you have been asking about a member party and wondering when there would be another one–it’s definitely been a while since the last one.

Well, we’ve been working on exactly that! The next member party will happen in the middle of January, from the 15-18th. But it’s more than just a party–wait till you see what else the team has planned! I’ll have more details next week, and I don’t want to say too much – but I can tell you that some of the items in the new Penguin Style catalog will come in very handy.

We like to hide little hidden references in Club Penguin all the time. Sometimes they are really obvious, like those two puffles at the top of the stage that are like those famous actors masks.

But sometimes, there are hidden things. If you’re a ninja, you’ve been able to see this lantern in the catalog:

The price of the lantern is 575. Do any of you know about the Japanese poems called haiku? The Sensei almost always speaks in haikus. The rule with a haiku is that it’s a three-line poem; the first line has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables, and the third line has five syllables. In other words: 5-7-5.
 
Isn’t that cool? Or do we just have too much time on our hands sometimes?

Member Party Update

Hello Penguins!

Wow – There’s been a lot of buzz about the member event that starts on Thursday! We’re glad you’re excited about it! Dancing is such a fun part of Club Penguin already, and we wanted to use this party to take it a few steps further! 

Get ready to break down some super cool moves because there’s going to be a lot of music and tons of room to dance–you can even get together with your friends and compete in the new Dance Contest Game! There are some cool things planned at the Night Club for the party, including three floors to explore and a chance to meet DJ Cadence! Check out this image–it’s just a bit of what you can expect on Thursday when the party starts.

                                          

Remember, the party starts on Thursday, Jan. 15 and goes until Sunday, Jan. 18!

Dance Party Extended

Hello Penguins!

Thanks for your comments about how much fun you’re having at the party! It was supposed to end on Sunday but we decided to extend it until Tuesday!! So member penguins – you and your friends can keep competing and dancing for another few days!

Some of you have been asking about Cadence and whether or not she will continue to show up at the party over the weekend and I wanted to let you know that she will be! We’ve heard a few concerns that Cadence won’t show up unless the metal landing pad on the rooftop is clear. Don’t worry–she takes the stairs just like you! So feel free to use the entire area to show off your moves!

A big “Thank You” to our members!

Hello Penguins,

We received an overwhelming amount of emails and comments from all of you members over the weekend thanking us for the Dance Party–but WE should be thanking you!

It’s because of you that we are able to keep turning the great ideas and suggestions from the community into reality in Club Penguin. Without you guys we wouldn’t be able to make Club Penguin as fun and safe as it is for everyone. So thank you for all your passion and contribution to the game!

Over the weekend, many of you let us know not only how happy you were we finally had another member party, but asked if we can do more for members in the future.

We are listening – and the answer is yes! This year, we’re going to be adding more creative and exciting activities for you to do as members–and we decided to start now.

The Dance Contest game is going to stick around and we’re giving you the multiplayer mode exclusively! Everyone will be able to play solo, but we wanted to give members something special.

We also decided to add one more thing to the game today, as a way to celebrate being a member. Check your Penguin Mail and look closely at your player card if you’re a member. Right now, only you can see the badge that’s there, but we’re working on making it so that other penguins can see it, too! Let us know what you think.

We will continue making Club Penguin fun for everyone, but without members Club Penguin couldn’t exist.

DS Game – International Update!

Many of you have been asking about being able to get the Club Penguin DS game in other countries, and the team has been working really hard to make it happen. And… we got a great update that we wanted to tell you about.

The Club Penguin Elite Penguin Force DS Game is already available in English for some Latin American countries, and we’ve confirmed that in the spring of 2009 (this spring!), it’ll be on the shelves in the United Kingdom and Australia!!

Paint by Letters Update

Hello Penguins! Tomorrow in the Book Room, there will be a brand new Paint By Letters book. Here’s a peek at “Lime Green Dojo Clean”:

If you’ve never played before, it’s a game where you can practice your keyboarding skills by filling in the words as they appear in the story. Sometimes you get a chance to choose words – and the penguin in the story will even be the same color as your penguin!

If you play, be sure to check out the pictures really carefully… You might find a few surprises. As always, we want to know what you think!

Celebrate Puffles!

Hello Penguins! You’ve been asking for a really, really long time about doing more with your puffles in Club Penguin, especially with their furniture. We’ve been working on it, and we’re really excited to hear what you think. It all starts in February! This month we’re going to be celebrating puffles like we never have before!

Starting on Feb. 13th, try putting some puffle furniture to your igloo and check out what happens when your puffles see it! Puffles playing more in igloos is just the start — later this month there are a few more puffle surprises including a great big Puffle Party! The party will start February 20, but I”ll have more details about that next week.

Greetings Penguins, How are you doing with the new Dance Contest game in the Night Club? The team’s really excited about it (we love to dance!) and I wanted to give you the game scoop from someone who helps design them in Club Penguin. Q: So what’s your absolute fave game in Club Penguin and why? A: Treasure Hunt (I love it partly because I got to help Screenhog make it and partly because it’s multiplayer). I also like playing Cart Surfer and Jet Pack Adventure. I like Catchin’ Waves… but I’m not terribly good at it. Q: Do you eat candy while you create games? A: Loads of it – But we’ve got healthy candy… like those grain bars. Q: What do you like best about games in general? A: It’s brilliant when you get to play games with friends.

Screenhog on making items

Hello Penguins. Screenhog here. Decide, Design, Draw, 3D… We thought you might want to see how we make an item for Club Penguin: Step 1: Decide. Usually, items are related to what events are happening that month, or where it will be used (like the costumes in the Costume Trunk). Step 2: Design it. A rough drawing is made of what we think the item should look like (in this case, a tuba).

Step 3: A final drawing is made. This is a clean-up of the rough drawing, with detail, color, and shading added. The icon is also made (this is the drawing of the item that’s in your inventory).
 
Step 4: The clothing item is then made in 3D.

Finally, it’s done!
 
Are there any clothing items that you’d like us to make? Are there any older clothing items that you would like to come back?

Hello Penguins! We’re so excited to share some amazing news! Many of you have asked to play Club Penguin in different languages. The team’s been working really hard on it, and today, just a few months after we added the Portuguese language, we’re thrilled to announce that Club Penguin can now be played in French!!

When you login to play, you’ll see that you can select English, Portuguese, or French. When you select one of the languages, EVERYTHING in the game is in that language! Cool! More languages will be coming and we’ll let you know as soon as they’re ready!

To help celebrate Club Penguin in French, here are a few French phrases -

Happy77 Interviews Stage Artist

Greetings Penguins! We get lots of awesome comments from Penguins about productions at the Stage. Since Team Blue and Team Red face off tomorrow, (and since it’s always cool to learn new stuff), I thought it’d be groovy-cool to talk to someone who works helping to draw the Stage sets.

Do you just read the Stage scripts after they’re written and then draw what you want?
We do them together. We draw as the writers are putting in ideas and suggestions.

What’s your favorite part of drawing for the stage?
Creating a whole tiny world in one room. Sometimes when I get into it, it feels like I’m actually in a fairy tale forest or in an old detective movie. It’s so much fun!

Have you ever drawn candy (or food) for any of the stages?
Well, I’ve drawn some alien beverages one time… but I try not to draw too much food, otherwise I’d get hungry!

Today Puffles Play!

Hello Penguins!
 
The team’s excited because TODAY puffles can finally play with their furniture! You’ve been suggesting it for a long time, and it’s one of the ways we’re celebrating puffles this month.

Try putting some furniture in your igloo and click your puffle card to ask your puffle to play, sleep, or eat. Puffles have minds of their own, so you might see them using furniture on their own, without you even asking them to! But remember, their health will only increase if you click their puffle cards. We may need to do a few tweaks, so let us know what you discover as your puffles are playing. We can’t wait to hear what you think!
 
Some of you have asked where your other pet items have gone (because they’re not where they used to be in your inventory).  Now only furniture items that puffles can play with are in the pet inventory. Check the other sections of your igloo inventory to find any items that may have moved.

Puffles Playing Update

Hello Penguins!

We’ve heard from a lot of you today as you’re discovering how your puffles are playing with their furniture! Thanks for your feedback and we want you to know that the team is working really hard to fix some of the bugs you are experiencing with your puffles.

Some of you aren’t sure about how to get your puffles to play with their furniture. If you click on your puffle cards, you can ask them to play, eat, or sleep. They’ll only play if their health is full or almost full, so keep them well fed and well rested! 

Thanks for your patience. We’ll let you know as soon as the bugs are fixed.

~click the feed your pet button then click the pet food then buy it and look were you placed the double dish then you will se the puffle jump into the food then the water~

-this will happen to each puffle you use!

Toy Update!

Hello Penguins!

A lot of you have told us you’d really like to see more Club Penguin toys. We’re excited to let you know that there are new ones coming! We know that for some of you the toys have been tough to find, so we’re working really hard to make sure there are more of this next series for everyone.

If you haven’t already, sometime really soon you’ll see new 6″ Limited Edition penguins and 2″ Mix & Match figures at North American Toys’R'Us locations, North American Disney Stores and Theme Parks, at the Club Penguin Online Shop, and in Disney Stores in the UK.

Puffle Party Starts Friday (& Puffle Care)!

Hello Penguins! The final preparations for the Puffle Party are happening right now and we hope you’re getting excited! Have you seen the Town Center? Do you have any guesses about what might be in those mysterious boxes? In Other News: Thanks for your patience with us as we fix these bugs that are causing problems with your puffles. The team is still working hard to fix them! Here are some tips for using the new puffle furniture: When their health bars are full, try to not have your puffles eat or sleep. If you do, their health will decrease. Their health will only increase if you ask them to play, eat, or sleep by clicking their puffle cards. When your puffles choose to play, eat, and sleep on their own, their health will decrease.

Let us know what kinds of cool things you and your puffles are doing to prepare for the puffle celebration on Friday.

Screenhog on puffle history

Hi everyone, it’s Screenhog!

In honor of the upcoming Puffle Party, I dug really deep to find out the history of the puffle. It’s hard to believe now, but when Club Penguin launched, there were no puffles at all. At that time, the community of Club Penguin asked if they could have some kind of pet to adopt for their igloo, and we decided that, instead of using animals that already existed, we wanted to make up a completely new creature for the penguins to adopt.

We started sketching some ideas of what a Club Penguin pet might look like, and now, showing for the first time ever, here are some of those original sketches from November 2005:

Some of the ideas were combined, and the puffle as we know it now was born (although we liked the propeller one enough that we gave the green puffle a propeller cap to fly around with). We’d love to know what your very favorite thing is about puffles.

Today is the day so many of you (and your puffles) have been waiting for! We hope you’re discovering all the fun stuff that’s on the island for this first ever Puffle Party. I happen to think that the Underground Pool area is super cool… I’d love to hear what your favorite area is!

Last Chance for Puffle Partying!

Hello Penguins! Tomorrow is the last day of the official puffle celebrations and we hope you had the chance to check out all the areas. There’s a different area dedicated to each color of puffle–we would love to hear what your favorite puffle room is! Also, if you haven’t tried yet, take each of your puffles into a few different rooms and pay close attention to the decorations! We hope you like what you see.

Even though the decorations come down soon, you can still be creative and show your puffles how much you appreciate them!

Happy77 talks to a Puffle Round-Up Pro

Greetings Penguins!

Wasn’t the puffle party so much fun? We all adore puffles around here and with all the shouts out to those fabulous furry creatures, I wanted to talk to someone on the team who just can’t seem to stop playing Puffle Round-Up.

Why is it that you love the Puffle Round-Up game? I’ll admit that I’m not terribly good at a lot of the other games. And I can get a good amount of coinage fairly quickly playing this one.

What’s your secret to winning? All the puffle colors act differently when you move them! For example, the red ones sometimes jump out! The pink ones cooperate, but they’re slower to respond. (Also, eating chocolate mints as I play helps tremendously.)

How much time do you spend playing? Not nearly enough to get all the things from Penguin Style that I want.

So… Coins or challenge… Why do you love your fave Club Penguin games? We want to hear from you.

Rockhopper’s Here! (& a mystery)

Hello Penguins!

Rockhopper’s here and we hope you can check out the Migrator for any surprises he might have with him. Don’t forget that the Treasure Hunt game only comes to Club Penguin when the Migrator’s docked, so if you like digging up treasure, you can play it with a buddy in the Captain’s Quarters.

Rockhopper will be around meeting penguins, so keep your eyes out for him. As always, we’d love to hear from you – Let us know if you’ve had the chance to meet our pirate friend on the island!

Announcing White Puffles!!

Hello Penguins!

Many of you have been asking for so long for another kind of puffle to adopt, and I wanted to be the first to confirm that you’ll soon be able to make those mysterious white puffles your newest pets. On Friday, you’ll be able to visit the Pet Shop and get your very own white puffle from the Adopt A Puffle catalog!

All the puffle colors have very different personalities, and from what I’ve heard, these new white puffles are really unique creatures. I don’t want to give everything away, but despite their smaller size, it sounds like they might do some very cool things!

Sneak Peek: Penguin Play Awards!

The team is really excited to tell you about a huge Member Event that’s coming to Club Penguin’s Stage. Lots of you have asked for something new and different at the Stage, and we’ve been working really hard to put together something we hope you’ll love. From March 20 – April 9, the first Penguin Play Awards event is here, and it’s going to be a special star-studded show! Everyone will be able to vote for their favorite plays in several categories, and members can walk from the red carpet into the Stage where there will be so many ways to be a part of the show, and a lot of surprises! Screenhog talks about Rockhopper’s Migrator!

Hi everyone!

Screenhog here. Do you know those puzzles where you have a picture with a whole bunch of stuff in it, and you have to find a specific thing? Well, the Migrator is a great place to play this game!

The artists hid a lot of stuff on Rockhopper’s ship when they built it. Ready to play? Explore the Migrator and try and find all of these things:
- A crown
- 7 treasure chests
- 3 puffle toys (one for the black puffle, one for the purple puffle, one for the blue puffle)
- The camera that was given to Rockhopper by Aunt Arctic
- 9 barrels
- A set of golf clubs
- 2 flags that can wave in the breeze
- 2 green buckets

St. Patrick’s Day Party Update

Starting Friday, the tradition of the Club Penguin St. Patrick’s Day Party continues! We hope you’ll join in the green celebrations this weekend!!
